is there any software that converts Quake 1 map files (.map or .bsp)
into povray files (.pov)?
I can make one if there isn't - I can make a model in a Quake editor
and convert it to povray, then I can re-texture. I am going to do so on
a map of an existing building. just asking if anyone has so I won't have
to program it, or if anyone can make use of that.

Most definitely a cool idea. Please, if you find one let me know. And
If you don't, I'll be more that glad to Beta it for you ;)

Awesome idea!
I wouldn't try messing with the BSP tree too much, though. From what I
understand, it'll kill ya :)
But a nice MAP->POV converted would be awesome. Maybe a Moray plugin (I'm
pushing it now, huh?)
I've seen POV->MAP, but not MAP->POV. Probably the biggest obstacle is the
textures (would have to be extracted from the BSP file or from WADs) and the
lighting (ech!)
