I'm a new sPatch user who can't get the darn thinng to export to POV
format. Whenever I go to file->export, I get "none found." Do I need
to do something to install the export plugin? I see the file pov.exp,
but it doesn't appear to do anything. What's up with that? Anybody
know?

I opened one of my saved spatch models, chose export to
pov, a save as window popped up, I chose a directory,
named the file, and hit save file. The file was there
ready and waiting for me correctly named and in the
correct directory. It rendered perfectly. Don't know
what to tell you.

I had the same problem....
Make sure that you tick the maintain directory box in your unzip program
otherwise spatch can't find the export plugin

I have a slightly different problem...
When I try to export to POV format, the dialog box opens for me to enter the
file name and I do and hit "save" and then i get a lovely GPF from sPatch
and have to close it without it saving the POV file.
I'm on a 166 Mhz Pentium, 16Mb RAM, and running Windows 95 if that helps.
Any ideas?
thanks,
Dave

As little as I've seen sPatch work, it does fine here on this Win95
Pentium machine. I tried just now to open one of its sample model files
then I exported to each and every type it will output to. No problems at
all. I have the Moray plugin too and here is a portion of the readme
file:
------------
Installation
------------
To install, simply copy Moray.Exp to the Plugins directory of sPatch.
This will install a Moray entry in the Export menu. Everything else
happens automatically. You should use Merge Object from the Moray
File menu to load the object.
------------
If you have the Export Plugin folder with the files and the installation
went right, I've nothing to suggest but to re-try the d/l or email the
author.

I re-trid the d/l, I re-installed it to the directory where I had it
previously. That didn't work. So I thought maybe the files weren't
overwritten when i re-installed so I even tried installing to a fresh new
directory. Nada. I'll try e-mailing the author. Thanks a lot. Maybe my
computer's just screwey...
Ciao!

Thanks for your suggestions. I un-installed sPatch from my computer
totally. Then I followed a link to the sPatch website (which incidentally
was NOT the same URL I had just re-downloaded from the other day... perhaps
this time it was an "official" sPatch web page?... though it looked the
same...) anyway, I downloaded YET AGAIN and INSTALLED AGAIN and now it seems
to work. The remaining question to be asked would be is my computer
screwey, or just me? :)
Thanks again!
Ciao!

Har har har... you'd think as often as I get that one, I'd go rent that
movie. Am I the only person on the planet who hasn't seen it? Must have
been BMT (before my time--I'm 22).
