First, I do not really care for the modellers offered for Pov-Ray (the
free or the commercial ones, well, Pov-Lab is pretty nice...), and I
don't think that is due to their in efficiency (it is due to mine :)
That point is, however, that I am trying to create a cow for a neat
little scene I am doing, and I can do most every part of the Cow using
CSG (it's not modelled after a real cow), except ears and a tail. For
the ears, I though of using a bezier patch (never have used one, correct
me if I am wrong). If there is any modeller in existance that can help
me create complex shapes (a reqular one or special one, but preferable a
free one :), I would apreciate it. If you have any ideas about how I can
design the ears and tail, I'd apreciate that too! :)

You can use Spatch which is a bicubic parametric Patch modeler
With it, you will be able to do your cow without CSG objects.
Personnaly I think it is one of the best modeller I have seen for POV
and it is a freeware:
