Dear All,

A very nice fellow - Tim Grubb - offers the source code to his
'aviseries', a small utility to generate avi movies (with whatever
codec is available on your PC) from tga (not RLEs).
It is an unfinished piece of software and although Tim has the skills
for it, he does not have the time for it any longer. On the other hand
I do not have time either.
But since I liked the tool I think it would be a pitty to leave it die
away. If others agree with me, please shout, but most of all, if
someone out there, reading this message, thinks he is up to improve
and maintain it, please get in touch with me (email), I'll pass on the
source. I also wish to put up a page on the web to give that away, but
I have not had time yet.

Since copyright does not have to be explicitly stated to exist, this
is obviously copyright Tim Grubb, but I asked him to comment on making
it GPL and he clearly replies 'do what you want with it, just keep me
informed'. So here are the rules : this software is originally
copyright 1997-1998 Tim Grubb and is subject to the terms of the GNU
General Public Licence a.k.a. GPL. This software is not a library you
can link in, it is meant to be distributed for free and remain free.
On top of the GPL there is one important condition : keep Tim Grubb
informed about all additions and changes so that he can benefit of
what he initiated.

I would also like to be kept informed myself, I will keep my website
updated with it.

So far, Tim has output one version of this software for Win32
platforms using VC++ 5.0. He was planning to release a MAC version but
I don't know if that is going to happen.
I would like to see that tool move away from VC++ 5.0 to a port of GCC
since these ports are freeware and available on so many platforms.

That's it for now,
Al.
