What for? (no 'Y' here)
You might check out an article I wrote on the history of POV--its at
http://twysted.net under articles. The "bibliography" includes an ftp
site where you can find version 1.0 for sure, but I don't know of
anywhere that you might find an earlier version of POV. Although the
same ftp site also contains DKBTrace, the precursor to POVRay. Perhaps
you could take a look at that?
