I'm glad it's posted here. After hours of searching, I found cmpeg a few
days ago from what I would consider unreliable sources not likely to keep
the file available in perpetuity.

ftp://fenyi.solarobs.unideb.hu/pub/misc/cmpeg10.zip

http://68.142.114.70/file/graphics/fileconv/CONVMPG2.ZIP

The second zip file (attached) includes decent docs and some other DOS mpeg
utilities as well. However, to get this thing to work reliably (though
rather slowly) under windows xp (winxp) x64 required the installation of a
DOS emulator. DOSBox v0.65 works for me, though even after tweaking the
config to minimize emulator overhead, it can still take longer to process
the frames into an mpeg than it took to render them.

Hope this helps!
