As requested.
Please forgive the ugly coding.
You may or may not want to play with the "high quality" settings....as they
may not actually produce that result.

Are you using any megapov-specific feature, or can I change the #version
so it works on normal POV?

What are the HQ settings? I assumed you'd have a #declare High_Quality =
off, or at *least* a comment saying what's low-q and what's high-q. I
guess I assumed too much.

This was written for megapov 0.6, but I think since then all features it
used are now in pov.

Hey now, give me a break there dude... :-\
After all, how foolish would it be to label something high quality when the
reverse is true?
I wrote this file years and years ago...so I am not even sure that enabling
radiosity or using the alternate photon settings will be HQ...
I *did* say that block could be deleterious instead of beneficial.
I am rendering this to find out...once I know, I'll place the appropriate
switches.
I posted the file unmodified except for changing the megapov version, so if
you want to, feel free to modify and repost it. ;-)

Parts of the scene render at 200 pixels per *minute*. When a scene
reaches the PPM scale, it's slow :)

These are the stats for the scee with radiosity enabled.
Attempting to render this scene in beta24 of pov3.7 on dual core runs
s-l-o-w...my god...
Whats up with that anyway??
In megapov1.2.1 it took only 16hrs and some change, but in beta24 its been
10hrs and its only 20% done??
It does look different so far, but holy crap..

Radiosity on 3.7 is still highly experimental, and results are probably
different from 3.6.

Yeah, no joke! ;-D
I hope it speeds up significantly by release, because twice as slow using
twice as many threads is harsh.
It would appear this only occurs with Radiosity, all else being much faster.
The output of Photons looks different too, with more artifacts.
Anyway, here is the modified source (images from pov3.7 and megapov1.2.1 in
p.b.i to illustrate the difference).
