Great progress, as always.
How about some water under the keel?
Don't know if the lines look good with your sky, but they could be a start.
plane {
<0,1,0>, 0
texture {
pigment { rgb <0.2, 0.2, 0.2> transmit 0}
normal { bumps 0.08 scale <1,0.35,0.35> turbulence 0.16 }
finish { ambient 0.05 diffuse 0.55 brilliance 6.0 phong 0.8 phong_size 120
reflection 0.6 }
}
translate <0,0, 0>
}
also best wishes to all for 2026.

Always here to help, when I can. :)

I'm pretty sure that I traced out an actual naval bell.
(and from my own recent experiments with the Catmull-Rom spline, the "feel" of a
curve is very dependent on the type of spline that gets used for the sor/lathe)

That would be a high honor.

And you as well,

Poopdeck is finished.
It has Bald Eagle's bell, centre-stage.
Now onto the main deck houses. winches, fife rails.
Cheers

Thank you, Ton. It's looking good.
I like the upright that you mounted it on, and the way you got the bell rope to
drape from the striker onto the deck.

Excellent.
Thank you as always for sharing your progress.

Thanks BE,
here is specially for you a close-up.
In those days, the 1870s, they didn't mind making simple things a bit more
elaborate, even bell-stands.
The rope consists of capsules (sphere-cylinder-sphere union) with a rope-like
texture.
Cheers
Ton
