Work in progress rendering of a train model. I cleared off my workbench to study
as I remodel this train using a mix of CSG and Smooth triangles. Original model
by Auror4 found free on Turbosquid.
I will try to turn this into a Christmassy rendering by adding a large red bow
on the engine cabin and pinning some Christmas cards to the peg board....and
maybe a Santa cap on the wood mannequin.

very nice job!
this is a train of mine, it is a 3D printing studio for models scale 1/220 (Z).
This is the smallest Italian maneuvering machine.
I love romantic images but I have no experience with accurate quality renderings
like your...

Very cool. I love it.
I've been looking for good CAD drawings of a train locomotive to model. I've
found a few, but nothing complete. They must be out there, because I see some
awesome 3D train models. I thought about deconstructing and drafting a physical
scale model - but it lots of work.

This is the STL section (ITA scale N train forum). Something is present,
Registration is required but quick and free

Having an interest in machining, CNC, and sheet metal work, I've watched a
number of Quinn Dunki's videos, and I remember that she covered information on
model train makers, and they are all completely insane. They have detailed
scale model drawings of _everything_, even if they have to deduce them from
measuring hundreds of old photographs.

Thanks for the info,
I have found some good scanned drawings, but the CAD files seem to come with a
price tag. I'll dig though those links.
