"Won't you come with me?"

I'm pretty pleased with this scene, it's certainly my most detailed so far and I
learned a bit of polygonal 3D along the way, which will definitely come in handy
in the future. If you want the source files you can get them here:

Nice...feels like summer. Are you handwriting the polys?

Hey Mike, the poly modelling was done in Blender and converted from Stanford PLY
to POV with a little script, I do sometimes work with tris manually though.

Hi 19100,

It's a very engaging scene!

Its content is making my mind work... The title, along with the image itself,
makes me think this might be an interdimensional and or metaphorical being of
sorts. A jester, perhaps? The face is a spitting image of a theatrical 'happy'
or 'playful' mask. (The more pleasant of the main two, but serving an equal
purpose.)

A mask exists to hide a face.

In psychonautical lore, the One Being split itself into many different beings,
and all those beings wore masks to prevent the One Being from knowing its true
self, if only for a short 'time'. This was to forget it was alone. But every
once in a while, one instance would take off the mask and learn the truth, and
upon learning about reality, it would entreat the 'others' to discover true
reality.

Or maybe I'm reading too much into the whole image ;D

Sam

Hi Sam,

I'm glad you found it so intriguing, thank you for sharing your thoughts!

You're absolutely right that I took design inspiration from theater masks. Down
the line I might just make a continuation of this scene, maybe it will provide
some illumination? ;)

Somehow, I find this scene (the half-hidden mask) rather
disquieting/frightening, in the same way that the /clown/ in the movie
"If" was frightening. What is hiding behind the mask I wonder?

Good work. Especially as you make people want to be drawn into the scene.

Hi Thomas, I was definitely going for a creepy aspect, so it's good to know the
scene is having that effect. Regarding clowns, are you referring to the
character It (aka Pennywise) from the Stephen King novel and TV/film
adaptations?

I think it's the portal aspect that made me think it was some sort of
interdimensional incursion, haha.

I'm looking forward to whatever you might post in the future~

Sam

Good!

And, yes, my bad. I wrote /If/ meaning /It/ aka Pennywise. I am mildly
dyslexic, and this is what happens. :-)

The film /If.../ is a completely different one from 1968, by Lindsay
Anderson.

Ah, no worries. I see what you mean with Pennywise, a very sinister demeanor.
