OMG, yes CIS GRAPHDEV, Compuserve and my dialup modem. It's all coming back to
me. :) Yes, it's been a while. Compuserve was located in my hometown of
Columbus, OH. ...go bucks.
So, what have you been up to?
I been wondering if any other old timers are still around. Like Farmer, Wells,
Brown... I had a lot of fun hanging with people much smarter than me back then -
and I still do. :)

I wonder if any of the old forums on CIS are archived anywhere. It would be kind of
like time travel to look back on them. I do have a fair chunk of forum messages cached
in my offline reader, as of the time it shut down. But that's not a full archive.

Very few from the CIS days are around. For some of them it's probably 30 years.
Interests change, people move on. I occasionally exchange email with Chris Young or
David Buck. Chris was likely the team leader back in the time you were active so you
may remember him. He has a YouTube channel at

So, what happened to their football team last fall? First, they go to
sleep in the second half against Michigan, then they blow the semifinal
against Georgia for want of a field goal.

I'm still around and check into these forums and pop my head in from
time to time. I still use POV-Ray from time to time and frequently talk
about it. I haven't been involved in the coding of POV-Ray since the
early 1990's.

Hi David,
nice to hear from you. I was very happy to discover that POV still has a strong
following. The support here has been great! I blame you for planting the 3D bug
inside me. :)
Best regards,
Mike

Guilty as charged.
A while ago I ran a Kickstarter (it didn't get funded) and made a video
using POV-Ray. It sort of explains my background and my interests.
Check it out:

Very cool tTh. Love the time-laps work. Did you post the scene file? Sorry I
can't read French but I saw a lot of great stuff there.
I'd like to see how you handle the 'hide scheme'.
Best regards,
Mike.
