Hi,

I can't remember if I posted a version of this Koch snowflake or not, but here
it is anyway :D

The object is comprised of two height_fields. A sky_sphere surrounds the object,
and no light sources were used. Basic focal blur and antialiasing method 2.
Three render passes were made: height map; main render; glare.

Happy POVving,

Sam

Nice and pretty. I don't think that the focal blur had any real effect.

Hi Alain,

Thanks! It's good to see you're still around.

I didn't intend for anything to be defocused... the focal blur was used only to
increase the number of samples. I've found that a bit of focal blur plus
antialising method 2 gives a nice & soft grainy effect. The speed and quality
can be fine-tuned by adjusting a camera's blur_samples, and/or by adjusting the
antialiasing options.

Oops, I forgot to mention that a very small granite normal was applied to the
object. The purpose of using doing that was to make the reflections and
refractions a bit blurry. It also helped spread out the dispersion_samples,
since I only used a value of 7.

Nice abstract art, well done.

Cheers
