Prompted by Thomas' musing that we don't see as many images posted here as we
used to in past times, I thought I'd share a recent creation. I've been working
from home of late in these interesting times, and I invested some effort making
a dedicated background image for use in Zoom meetings.
As part of this, I finally managed to get somewhere with my own tree generator
macro, which I've struggled with in the past. It's not really complete, since it
just uses spheres for a sparse finish - ideally it should do something with
triangles, and I need to add better texturing options, leaves, presets for tree
types etc. Good enough for this though!

Beautiful, exotic and peaceful. And not 'cluttered'. I especially love the
crescent-moon motif, and its repetition. As to your trees being 'just spheres',
they look really nice, no matter how you managed to do it.
I sense the need for an exotic-looking but simple fishing boat in the distance,
like an Indian(?) dow. (Chinese dow?) And maybe a bit more detail in the water,
like the Sun reflecting in it-- which may not be physically realistic in this
scene, but would add a visually-interesting detail, to give your Zoom audience
more to look at (or more to be distracted by when they get bored, ha.) ;-)

Oh! I am sure you are going to attract all the focus and attention
during a Zoom meeting! You may take psychological advantage from this :-)
Yes, I like the design. As Kenneth said, the Moon phases are a
particular touch that work very well here. The trees are nice, a bit
severe probably but that - again - might work well in a meeting ("this
guy is a serious guy").

Well since my good self tends to occupy the middle of my screen, I designed this
image to have more around the edges. More interesting images tend to be obscured
by the attendee in the foreground, and end up infuriating a curious audience!

Haha, we're pretty informal - anybody who might get that message from my
background imagery would swiftly be disabused of it once they knew me :)
Most people who don't show off tasteful libraries or gleefully cluttered home
offices employ a huge array of backgrounds, taking in holiday pictures, cartoons
and memes, video game scenery and so on. The BBC released a gallery of
photographs depicting empty studio sets from classic TV shows - Dad's Army,
Porridge, Doctor Who - I've seen many of these crop up too.

I'd like to think of these crescents on the balcony as perfectly aligned with
some recurrent solar eclipses in this virtual world, the squared floor being
used as a calendar by its inhabitants... ;-)

I've given up trying to juggle the default radiosity parameters, I pretty much
use UberPOV for everything these days! Artifact-free radiosity every time, at
the price of very slight graininess.
