A very deadly fellow, one should not trivialise it. I like the first
image most. It looks most dangerous. I survived this beast with greatest
luck (and an emergency surgery). I have no understanding for people
ignoring the disease and demonstrating for not wearing masks as they do
it at the moment at Berlin. To wear a mask is inconvenient but saves lifes.
Best regards
Michael

Glad you're still with us!

There has been an anti-intellectual movement in the USA, being groomed
for several decades now, and it is coming to fruition. Science,
expertise, and critical thinking are viewed with suspicion, and even as
satanic. In this state, facts no longer matter, and you can pour
literally any idea into people's heads. I think the idea was, "Keep 'em
stupid, and they'll vote for us."
The anti-intellectual dupes are a minority, less than 30%, but with a
contagion like COVID-19, we need *everybody* to do their part, and the
dupes are so pumped up with hyper-individualism that they can't see that
they are killing everyone--or they don't care. (Hypocritically, these
exact same people are happy to abandon individualism when it comes to
forcing their religion on other people.)
One might think that this anti-intellectual project has been a failure.
Alas, the well being of society has not been their goal; it has been to
suck ever more money out of the workers, and in this respect it has been
a spectacular success. The deaths of hundreds of thousands is not a
problem; they have their money. And the dupes walk right up to the
slaughter.
America is being dismantled before our eyes, all in the guise of saving
it. As a German, this should scare the shit out of you.

Thank you very much. I could breathe but only at the lowest level and
only to just survive at the hight of the crisis. Fortunatelly no one sat
on my throat for some eight minutes.

I have no idea what this phrase really means. An idiom lost in
translation may be. The actual U.S. president speaks only for a white,
male subpopulation of the U.S. and tries to regain his success from 2016
by addressing this people only. He will not be a president to all
american people ans was never.

Yes, I admit, I was too lazy to redirect it to the "off topic" section
and I am it now. But politics are everywhere and have to be addressed
everywhere. That is one of the basic rules of democracy. At the first
sight POV is only a ray-tracer and politics doesn't seem to bother it.
But: we create art-work with it. And we discuss this art-work here.
Art-Work is political in most cases. As we have deniers of the
corona-virus (especially the Nazis storming the German Bundestag at the
08/29/2020) a picture of this virus is political.
You may mask this view since it is inconvenient to you. But be aware,
the virus is no fake as first pronounced by a certain Mr. Trump.
Best regards
Michael

Glad to hear that you survived this scourge. So far, I've been lucky here in
Virginia in the U.S.-- by always wearing a mask around other people, and
'locking down' for months (at my age, it's just too dangerous to ignore the
warnings... or to listen to any of the politicized misinformation swirling
around.) Common sense will prevail, hopefully!
My general outlook is to see the humor in crazy situations-- so here's my
contribution :-) (but certainly not meant to trivialize it). No POV-Ray, just
some fun with Photoshop, combined with my astounding artistic skills(???). With
apologies to Toho Studios...
The Final Showdown!

LOL!
I fully agree with you. Also, Michael, I am glad you survived this. I
hope you do not suffer from too many after-effects; those do not seem
trivial either. In NL we have been "relatively" lucky so far. The first
wave mainly hit the southern half of the country (I live in the northern
half) but the second wave seems to be more evenly spread with hot spots
in the major towns. As long as (most) people follow as well as possible
the official directives, it should be "manageable", but...
I have not yet felt the creative drive to come up with my own covid19
POV-Ray scene ;-)
