Is that one foot per Pov unit?

Everything is bigger than life. In those Southern States. ;)
I reckon that the largest of the riverboats would be about a third the
length of the Titanic.
Titanic: 882'
Mississippi steamboat: 300'

Yes, clipka, according to Sven as well, in the pov-file, that steamer is over
100 meters long. Titanic was close to 300 meters, so those Mississippi paddle
steamers were really big.
I'll render a second image, with Titanic in the front, and the steamer behind
it. I think this composition gives an advantage to the steamer.
Cheers
Ton.

I think the forward well deck is finished. Onto the aft well deck.

I am looking forward to the inspection from the viewpoint of a drone.

The aft well deck is done (More deck cranes for Stephen).
I've added the telegraphs, steering wheel and compass to the navigating bridge,
wheel house and the aft steering bridge.
I have to make some small modifications (correct some errors), but basically the
whole
superstructure is done. I'll keep the masts for last, as caking on the ice, to
dot the
tees and cross the eyes.
Cheers

Nah! Crossing the eyes will be modelling the iceberg! :-)
I can almost see the crew at work. Very good indeed.

It's a little while ago I posted something. I am quite sure you're all wondering
what's happening (or not!).
I tried to do the hull with arrays, and then calculate the triangles, and
normals.
Didn't work.
Too difficult for my old head.
So I'm modelling the hull in Blender, and export it to Povray, and that seems to
be going all right.
So here is a new image. Enjoy.
Cheers
Ton.

Yes, I was wondering about he hull and I am not surprised. I had the
same problem a long time ago when I modelled my VOC ship.
Something you may be interested in when modelling ship hulls:

the free version of the package is quite good.
