Nothing wrong indeed with the obj version of the vase, so it is the
mesh2 exporter that goes wrong.
Here is the vase with the caustics at last.

Does this mean that the official exporter also has the problem? LanuHum could
you provide the Blender scene for a check and eventual fixing?

Yes!

Thomas, Many thanks for your help! But
Check, please, in Poser this vase. Whether there will be artifacts in normals
now?
I try to change export of meshes.

I loaded the vase in Poseray; it is still corrupt in the same way.
When looking closely at the object, the triangle faces appear to be
formed from the wrong vertices, for instance crossing over from the
inner side of the vase to the outer side.

Hmm... maybe an off-by-1 error in the triangle vertex indices generated
by the exporter?

meshmaker creates correctly object, and caustics normal at settings of photons
photons {
spacing 0.01
max_trace_level 8
}
Trace Time: 0 hours 5 minutes 25 seconds (325.612 seconds)
using 4 thread(s) with 1268.043 CPU-seconds total
POV-Ray finished

This looks good and photons are all right, fairly fast too.

Hi, sorry but I fail to see any problem in LanuHum's images or in mine when I
tried rendrering the scene in the official exporter. By just looking at
the pictures, the only problem I saw was ray depth set too low. Do you mean that
there is use of a syntax that is going to be deprecated ? I also checked the
normals of the file, which are fine. I don't have any urge to import the mesh
into PoseRay, though in the long run I can see it could be good to have a better
compatibility with it. But I'm probably missing something?
