I will wait for a few weeks before investigating further
(end of December is not computer-time friendly).

It seems there 4 vectors to consider, in pair:
 1. the ray direction
 2. the normal of the surface
 3. an absolute direction (from SDL)
 4. a direction from the intersection point to an absolute point

Some pairs are probably already covered by slope & aoi.
And maybe not all of the 6 combinations are interesting.
