I did this spiral using a blob and the macro that converts HSV to RGB.

My problem is that I can't get rid of the artifacts caused by the blob (and,
believe me, I've tried it a hundred different ways). The only possibility would
be to double or triple the amount of control cylinders, which will make this
already very slow image to be impossible to render.

I post it here so I can ask a question in General: is it possible to transform
this spiral into a parametric isosurface? If so, how can I get to the formula?

Thanks,

Ruy

It would probably be easier to generate a mesh, specifically, one that
sweeps the tall thin rectangular cross-section around the spiral path.

Maybe this page can be of help. The second picture from above seems to be
remotely similar to what you would like...
