Hmm, very cool, looks sort of like white jade. I wonder what it would take to
try and reproduce this without using an external application....

But make the dragon a tiny little bit more transluscent. If it is made of 
jade, I would expect the shadow to be not as dark as seen here. 
Transluscence 8a bit) should work wonder here.
