I suppose you mean the owner, not the house are 3 apples high. At least I
always thought it was that way. I just used it as the thread title to peak
curiosity without completely giving away what it is.

The roof is supposed to look more not exceptionally glossy, but not
completey matte either. More like rubber I suppose, like the skin of real
mushrooms.

I didn't actually know who's house it was. Just used a bunch of reference
pictures I could find and used the elements I liked best. But I guess each
smurf house would be different to some degree...

Thanks! And thanks for the ref pic, I hadn't seen that one yet. The
appearance of smurf houses seem to vary drastically from one source to the
next. Some are simple and comic-like, whereas others are more detailled
and complex. Perhaps I'll see what other variations I could do, perhaps
colourings too.

Not sure if I want to do smurfs themselves as I am not much of a character
modeller, but we'll see...

If you want to search more, the original Belgian name of Smurfs is
"Schtroumpfs"

If they realy existed: You could grab one in your hand, with only the head
sticking out, the feet been flush with the other side, or maybe just tsicking
out, but barely...

Good point.

Most only differ by the colour of the roof. But some do have some distinctive
features.
The builder's house have that structure to enable him to bring in large or heavy
stuff that don't fit trough the front door.
Only one of the original one had flower boxes at his windows. The
Stroumphette/smurfette also have flower box, but she's a late addition.
The Grand Stroumph have a larger house than the rest to house his laboratory and
library.

I heard a rumor that, in some culture, a "Smurf" is a spirit of a

Neat concept. I find the idea of updating old animation more interesting
than recreating it. You've gone a bit towards updating I see by trying
for a natural mushroom texture.
