Thanks, Jeremy. That's a nice image! I downloaded the source, I'll have a
look. Thanks for sharing. I know the wood isn't quite good yet, but I
wanted to post it anyway. The colour is a bit too red as it is. But it all
depends on the final context, so I'll adjust it when the time comes.

Ah! Modelled from memory. That is why the pots are so big, your hands were
smaller then :-)
You need to distress or age the textures for this veteran radio. A few
finger smudges around the knobs and dirt in the speaker grill.

I like those old lamp radios. We had one at home, when I was a kid: a big
box (Philips) and especially interesting was that green 'cat's eye' you used
for tuning. I see that yours has one too. Great (mono) sound by the way...
and the mysterious glow you could see through the back panel... and the
mysterious smell of dust and hot lamps... hmmm....
Your radio needs a bit of ageing I believe. Some scratches and dulling of
the shine. But excellent work as it calls up memories!! :-)

Thanks, Thomas and Stephen.

Yes, it's funny with these memories, and how the size is distorted.

The cat's eye was very mysterious, and the text on the dial window was also
lighted, as I remember it. My grandmothers room was dimly lit, enhancing
the glow of the radio. And how did all the sound get in there? It expanded
my universe at the time.

I'm not sure if I'm going to add any dirt to the textures, as it's only
going to be a little over 2 x 4 cm in the final 30 x 45 cm image.

Funny that about cat's eyes or magic eyes. I don't remember if the analogy
with a cat was invented by us (we had many cats!) or not.

fair enough. But keep it in mind for any other image in which you would like
to use it.

LOL! It's as if one word evolved into the other...

I wish I could edit my posts. I rarely proofread them, and then later, I'll
notice stupid mistakes.

  Yep, same as me.

...or a topic for our own competition! I would love that. :-)
