'X' marks the spot? (Or + in this case).

Oh well.. it looks like I need to make a more clear render. It's supposed
to be an aerial view of Vietnam during morning sunrise. Notice the sunrise
colors on the edge.

I guess so. It wasn't clear what you wanted to imply. In your image,
there is a cross, (could be an aircraft, and it may even cast a shadow - not
sure). It looks unnatural though.

I did, but your image was so small, I thought you were fishing for
something else. <shrug>

I don't see any cross or plus shape anywhere. I think it looks really good,
but I'm not convinced that landmasses actually appear orange from outerspace
when the sun is rising or setting on them.

Oh COOL! I see it now :)

Must be just an artifact.

Heh, and I was thinking my eyes were failing me. 8^)

I'd love to see a bigger image of your sunrise scene.

I think it's pareidolia. That's the effect of our brains being wired to see
things that aren't there. It's a handy overcorrection to have when you're
trying to recognize other members of your species, or avoid being eaten by
lions. A false positive, and you look like a gullible idiot; a false
negative, and you're lunch.

Nowadays, you can use this cerebral malfunction to make yourself look like a
gullible idiot while you laugh all the way to the bank. Author Richard
Hoagland has made a fortune on one Martian pareidolian rockpile, and
recently a 10 year old Virgin pareidolia on toast fetched a cool $28,000.
So save that render, 'cause it's a potential gold mine!
