Hi all

I put this scene together for the front of a flyer for a local event
(http://www.psycle.info) . It's the first time I've created anything in POV
in over 10 years so I had a pretty steep learning curve catching up on all
the new features! This represents about 2-3 days of work as I jumped in at
the last minute and we had a deadline for getting them printed.

There was no pre-planning involved, I simply started playing around with
macros and built the pyramid as the first thing that popped into my head
that I could easily create with simple CSG. I then started playing around
making other objects that would tie together as a scene, then using
emitting media to add the various light flares.

The image has been slightly Photoshopped to remove various black artifacts
caused by the media-filled sphere sweeps above the pyramid. I think I'd now
know how to fix these, but I don't intent to revisit this scene since
there's a few things I'm not happy with about it and I'd prefer to move
on...

In any case I thought I'd post it since despite various things that could be
improved, I'm still pretty pleased I managed to put something half-decent
together in such a short time! I'm working on an image for the November
flyer which is already looking very interesting. This time I've started
with an idea already in my head, and from my experience with the first
image I've found I've been able to quite quickly get what I wanted out of
the engine.

I'm happy to share the source for this scene, although it doesn't render
properly, and due to being thrown together so quickly it's a complete mess!
