I think I am perilously close to being done. This is my favorite result so
far. I will clean up the code and send it to Jaime. After that I will make
it public.

Imho using height_field generated basing on isosurface will gave as good 
result, but working faster.

Like

  height_field {
    function Q,Q {
      pattern { 
       sin(x) + // ... rest of formula from isosurface 
      }
    }
  ...

   Very very nice, Tim... I'm hardly waiting for the code (the timing is 
just perfect, as I've finished the POVCOMP entry and was going to retake 
the "project Tierra").
