Finally finished this render - 112 hours actual computation time (5 hours
for photons), the last part of the scene really takes incredibly long...

The height of the waves varies with the distance now, this influences the
color quite a lot so it looks more similar to the sky near the horizon
now. I'm not really content how it turned out in the foreground, the water
looks much better in fact without radiosity and it's quite impossible to
do test renders with, because you would have to wait forever...

I think it's nearly finished now, only think i will try to make the ground
below the water darker.

Comments still welcome of course.

Christoph

The transparency/texture of the water up close is delicious.

Looks like you've done a bit of work on the brick textrues too.

Nice work.

Magical, worth every hour of computation time!

one of the best pov image I've seen!
really good work!
the bricks are perfect (they don't look all the same), the water, the
islands and the atmosphere too: that's a photo realistic image!
If your goal was a riven-like image, you got it :o) I like this game a lot
and I think, it can give inspiration for quite a long time...

Really very, very good! I can't imagine that you still hope to improve
on it. It is the sort of picture that restores your faith in ray-tracing
:)

Beautiful. Only one nitpick though - some of the bricks edges are a bit too
sharp. (looks like I'm the only one with a nitpick?)

Great stuff,

That's the slowest part of course :-)

Yes, i tend to forget what things i changed after 5 days...
Some stronger variation of the single brick's color and some change in the
finish. Also added some green to the waterline. The isosurface function
was not changed.
