I've managed to break up the ground in the way I wanted - almost! added some
rocks and grass and added a fern covered mound. Just some birds to add and
it's done.

I still love it, but the furrows look too broken now and more like a paddy
field than a ploughed field if that makes any sence.

I agree, mostly. One thing, like Steve says the furrows are a bit too
broken now, somewhere between this and the first version should be best.
And somehow this feels like a strange place for ferns to grow - don't
they usually prefer shady forest floors and the like? I might be
mistaken here, though.

You are - they grow everywhere in England. in fact they are an growing pest!
