Hi..
I just wanted to say that all of these images are fantastic. I am use to 3D
Studio Max at school.. (30 yrs old and went back to school).. but it is
way too much money for my budget. I am going to give POVray a try. I am
brand new.. haven't even attempted to render anything yet. I still have to
learn the programming.

You may want to also try Strata 3D at
http://shop.3d.com/strata/strata3d/index.html
Its totally free - but you need to download a 25mb file.
And of course there's Moray at www.stmuc.com which is made to work with
POVRay.

Welcome aboard. Be careful, once you start you'll never be able to stop.

Hey crowd, a big cheer for Jennifer. Welcome aboard. Have a seat
(you'll really need it when one of the masters posts a picture), pour
yourself some coffee (you're gonna need that, too), make yourself a
nice big printout of the manual, and dive into the world of POV-Ray.
If you feel like sinking, we'll lend you a hand. That's about it, hope
to see what you'll come up soon.

Welcome aboard. While it is true there is a bit of a learning curve to
using the program the effort it takes can be very rewarding.
