iirc Mac POV-Ray does write png files, otherwise there *should* be some
freeware/shareware on the net that you could use for converting whatever
file format to nice and small jpegs!
btw the first abstract that you posted might be an interesting thing for
experimentation with media and/or radiosity........ (expect long render
times with media hehe)
