Here's a slightly updated version of my logo, applying some ideas that came
to me last night (as you can see, I'm more creative when the rest of the
world sleeps). Anyway, I hope you like the improvements. I'm including both
the full-fledged logo and the icon version (there are some slight color
differences to help the little one show up better). If you don't like the
colors, please say so, I'm not in love with them. They can be changed. Oh,
and please, if you feel that the logo looks like monkey barf, please speak
your mind. I don't care if I win this competition or not. I just want POV to
have the best logo it can. If mine are not up to it, please let me know.
Thanks. ^_^

For some reason the blue part looks more like a logo for pool supplies
or a water softener...probably the resemblence to a wave. It doesn't
look like a logo for a 3D computer graphics program...

I like it, but you *might* want to make it a heightfield and see how it
comes out rendered, and maybe add some nice little touches. Then again,
that's just me.

Thank you for your honesty, Chris. I'm glad that you at least commented on
it. I was shooting for an arrow look. What would you recommend I change to
give it a more "I am a 3d program" look?

It has an interesting look to it but the thing that bothers me is the
scaled down POV part of the logo looks like it says JOY or maybe JOV
rather than POV.

I don't see any J in there... unless I really try. This is not good, though.
If you see it, others might too. Perhaps a change of colors would be
adequate?

I really like the colors together. i don't think the styles go very
well, but the yellowish and the blue work nicely together. i might have
to steal the colors if i get around to doing a logo... for now i'm
saving the image just incase. :)

I don't have a copyright on colors, feel free. :) What would you suggest as
a way to unify the two styles?

I still don't think it looks like a 3D program logo. The color and the bubblish
look to the letters make it look like some kind of water thing, like a purifier
or something.

somehow, Mattel does i think. on that "barbiedoll" pink color. i don't
understand how they can do something like that when the sun could claim
"prior art" or whatever the term is, ie., the sun made the color before
mattel did.

anyway...

the blue "pov" part has too much empty space it seems, when compared to
the "ray" part. also, it kind of looks like it might be read, "pov eray"

there is also something a little not quite right with the curve on the
"P" when it breaks away from the circle. but that doesn't help the empty
space issue which i'm preoccupied with.

i'll be intersted in any changes you might come up with. good luck!

ross.
