Hi all
A few years ago, I started creating both a 2D and a 3D Lindenmayer system.
I have now resumed work on the 3D version of the system and am trying to
find a good way to generate triangles and polygons.
Here is an image showing some of the progress so far. It shows my take on
the plant in figure 1.26 in the book "The algorithmic beauty of plants".
I will update the 3D library on GitHub once I have settled on a sensible
solution.

Excellent work and nice book !
I am working on the same project, but in browser environment:
https://yesbird.online/rebelle/assistant/ls_painter.html
Good luck with triangles :)

Thank you!

Your web pages look very nice and have a modern feel.
It seems that your L-system project is based on Javascript. Does it need
access to any other resources (than the browser) on the computer?

Thanks for kind words :).

Yes, this web application written on Javascript and sits in browser
completely without accessing other resources, implementing
cross-platform capability.
This is a main advantage of web applications.

Hi Tor Olav,
do not be so humble to say that you started creating a 2D version of the
LSystem.
As far as I can say it's perfect! Tested it 'gazillions' of times.
And so is your 3D version - but by far more complex! Reading your code makes my
brain spin. Tested it a lot of times and I love it because it's a brain twister.
Go on as I can't wait to see how triangles and polygons will work.
Cheers

Hi YB,
interesting to see that you are working on a subject we in a way share.
I opened your site today - it's great - and I have only 'one' question:
- which browser was it designed for?
- use for mobile phones?
When I open an image it covers a part of the left side navigation.
Otherwise good job!
Can I copy some of your LS code for further development?
Cheers

I did not thought about some specific browser expected the same
behavior on all platforms. Could you please send a screenshot a
and info about yours ?

Unfortunately no, because this project is add-on to "Rebelle" painting
software that has no mobile version. Feel free to port it to any
platform of your choice.

Sure, here is a public repository under MIT license for you :)

It will be interesting to look at your project in future.

I have the same conceptual problem in my solution to these.
I keep trying to model a proper mesh2 object for a complete surface and
I should probably just be happy enough to create four triangles to mimic
the conical or cylindrical shape of each segment and call it a day.
I also was doing my generation scripts in Python, but I'm trying to
figure out how to do them purely in SDL.

I attached a screenshot to show what I meant.
The window with the LS data is not scalable and consumes half of the screen.
I am using Firefox v 158.0 on Windows 10.

Hi Josh
Yes, gathering the triangles into a mesh2 is cumbersome, especially if one wants
to allow for stacked polygons.
Do you want gather all the triangles from a full expansion of a L-system into a
single mesh2 ?
