Too kind. We shall see how it goes... ;-|

This is only preliminary, and somehow too "contemporary" in some of its
aspects, but it is a start, and I am learning a lot about how to do
pigment_patterns right for instance.

Well... I have no idea as he refuses to communicate with me... ;-)

Mike, Kenneth, thanks indeed.
I have taken the opportunity to explore more in details the directives
from Clipka to correctly use the finish code in version 3.7 and higher.
Very enlightening indeed. I shall come back on this later on.

Two different views of the vase with the panels now finished. The
decoration is a faithful copy of the originals.

This is a reproduction of the restored frieze I used as example for my
own "painting".

I like the addition of the cracks and dents to start making it look aged. Was
this done in your modeling system, or added in in POV afterwards?

Thanks Chris. The cracks/dents were added in POV as a normal to the
reddish slipware. The decorations have a different normal but that is
still not final. In a final stage I might add the normals to the model
itself; Poseray is very well-suited for that.

Not yet satisfied but progress was made.
All work was done on the textures of the vase. Incidentally, I improved
the set-up of my studio environment.

A very good vase, perhaps the black lines are a bit too bright, they
look freshly painted.

Thank you Paolo. Take 2 will take care of that I hope :-)
The table cloth is a basic cylinder with a texture using a black/white
image_map of the POV-Ray logo as a pigment_pattern.
