Heh. :) Just gotta do it sometimes.

Not necessarily... but maybe redder, along with the flames.
Maybe also add a dark burn patch on the surface under the flames as well and
some smoke or absorbing media in the flames to give that sooty effect.
And if you're ambitious enough, something like:

for the circular blade.
Nice scorpion :) That maniac Rune would have animated the thing - with an
automated script by now... :O

Hmm, tricky. I'd say yes except you might lose some of its detail.
Is the duck the referee? :)

neat, even though I'd have to like like it for my seeing my initials. :-)

Thanks for comments.
I forgot to credit the duck to Lutz + Kretzschmar (cica 2000) (has
featured in many of my renders - just love it)
No excuses, but the "victim" machine was a bit last minute. I like the
idea of charred surface and I agree the flame doesn't look right. The
metal would have a different colour flame (less of a wood fire) .
Will investigate the motion blur. I have a helicopter that always looks
as if it would not be in the air with the speed the rotaors appear to be
going.
... cheers Bob

Narrower and brighter.
Or, same size, but with a very high density in the axis, a sharp drop
then fading to zero at the edge.
Try this :
cylindrical{colour_map{[0 rgb 0][0.97 rgb 1][0.97 rgb 20][1 rgb 100]}}
You'll need to rotate and translate so that the pattern match that laser
path.

For your information: motion_blur has been re-introduced by Clipka in
the UberPOV version under the name Blink. See:
https://github.com/UberPOV/UberPOV/releases/
Worth a try I am sure ;-)
Now that I think of it: The best and most up-to-date Docs for all
versions of POV-Ray are those on the wiki page. See:
