Here's my initial attempt at making a mermaid version of an artist's
manikin. Could stand a bit of polish yet, but it's all set up for posing.

Oh! Cute!

Reminds me of my pre-Poser days when I peopled my scenes with manikins :-)

Iteration 2 of my mermaid manikin. Shaped head, torso, and waist so
they're not just mesh-based rotational sweeps and added a tail segment.

Very nice. One thing though: The neck does not seem to attach well to
the torso.

Still a long ways from being finished, but some progress has been made.
The head is in a very rough preliminary stage, just started today; the
torso and waist sections and some refinement of the hip section were
done yesterday, further work on waist and hip sections today, rebuilt
neck as a mesh.

Hope to eventually get it to the point where I can get it 3D printed
into physical form that's articulated.

Getting much better indeed.

Yes, that would be the logical step.

It's a good idea to do something like mermaid. But it is somewhat like a shrimp,
too.

Because of the joints in the tail? Heh. It does, doesn't it...

I imagine it will undergo further metamorphosis as I try to figure out
how to make it work as a physical object.

Yes, it is. Maybe because of its proportion, too. An object undergo
metamorphosis is a good idea, too! Won't you lend me this idea?
