As does frustration. ;-)

You are right it does not resemble a strawberry, for a start
strawberries are red or strawberry coloured. :-P
It does have a certain charm in a "I don't want to be in the same room
as it" way.
Is it an isosurface, blob or what?
It's worth continuing with, I think.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could get some work done while rendering.
But then I'm constantly peeking to the povray output, checking progress,
admiring the newest pixel block ...

Well I actually DO have a strawberry WIP that is red, see attachment ;)
But it's mostly an elaborate texture on a plain blob and nothing much
remains of the strawberriness when normals are removed as happended when
adding subsurface so I ended up with the other test scene. Not sure I
want to render a bowl full of isosurface strawberries, though ...

Yes Iit could be called repulsive sphere over checkered plane ;)

As you found out by now, it is an isosurface (sphere - leopard).

Well let's see if I make it back to the strawberry first ;)

A bowl full of isosurface strawberies... It won't be THAT long to render
as only a few will be fully visible, some only partialy visible and
replacable with a simple blob, and many totaly, or almost totaly hiden
that could be totaly removed or relaced with simple primitives.
