Playing with Ricky312's randscape... after a couple of tweakings. See
p.b.scene-files for details.

The mountains in the background look like something from a Yes album cover.

John

Hmm, a temperate-to-cool planet with an unstable crust? :) Looks good, though it
could use some higher AA settings ;)

Very unstable crust indeed. Now that you mention it, this could be used
to model the early Earth. Sure about the AA. I am just fooling around
actually without too much attention to details ;-)

I like Ricky's isosurface approach.

That *unstable crust* has triggered the present image :-)

A view of the early Earth in a young solar system. Also visible are a
few of the ca 1000 sister stars, born in the same cradle as our Sun.
Over time, these stars have been smeared out over the local arm of the
Milky Way, but in the early days they were very prominently visible in
the sky. Studies have shown that the night sky was probably brighter
than during today's full moon.

Combination of several applications:
- Ricky312's isosurface macro
- Sam Benge's textured fog/media
- Cousin Ricky's star media macro

The Earth's textures are my own responsibility.

Thomas
