I like both helix and colors, but the word "(P)ersistence" is difficult 
to read. Perhaps in another color wuold be better.

  well how about that! in the non area light version those letters cast 
a shadow on the object that helped with that ... i rendered the area 
light version without the preview and didn't notice that it (the area 
light) obliterated the shadow. guess my size parameters could use a 
tweak or two

Btw, maybe you could start a new thread for this new approach.

It's getting a bit inconvenient to navigate this one - at least
if, like me, you have set up the reader to display all messages
in a thread if it contains an unread post ;)

I've already changed  my settings under Personalise->Message-Order to "Newest to
oldest"

No Navigation any more ;)

	Note that the “N” shortcut jumps to the next unread mess
age.

Same as in virtually every Windows program. Click on the heading of the 
column until the arrow points the way you want the sort to run. In later 
versions of thunderbird, you have to turn off the threading, or it'll just 
sort the entire thread.
