I've been working on a model ship, and to adequately light the
mess/recreation deck (which is 18 meters across and 54 meters long) will
require a lot of light sources. This test has 72 light sources, almost
all of which are 2x2 area lights. I jitter the sub-lights in order to
smooth the shadows, and it looks okay, but I think that I won't be using
a fully-detailed model of the ship in every scene.
I know that there are currently many new developments in lighting
scenes, but this represents how it all works under POV-Ray 3.6.
Regards,
John
