There is something about cg art, especially ray-tracing, that seems to 
elevate the art of the pastiche.  This is a gorgeous example.

You are absolutely correct, Jim. There is that fascination in trying to 
recreate in cg what exists otherwise. It feels like the early photographers 
recomposing early paintings, sometimes to excellent effect.

Happily, cg is not only that, but it plays a significant role.

Yes, I have been thinking along that line too :-)  This one really was an 
exercice in reproduction, also for technical reasons. Next steps would 
necessarily depart from that, if only to allow creative freedom in again. 
Maybe one day. Life is short ;-)
