I was unaware of Strata, which explains my ignorance.

Indeed, Marc modelled an Ankh-Morpork street scene some years ago :-)

Do you still have this scene laying around? Could you maybe render a spherical
projection from somewhere between the ring and the star for me? I would like to
use the render as a background for the space video game Homeworld 2.

I certainly have the scene available, somewhere covered in dust. I shall 
see what I can do. There may be some issues if I remember correctly.
