Yes, without it I didn't even wait for the first block to appear!

Reason I need the speed is because it's going into MCPov - so far the mesh2 
approach works very well.  After I tidy up the macro a bit it might be worth 
sharing if anyone is interested?

Parametrics always make isosurface look fast, even when using precompute 
with the largest value possible.
