I posted an image back in 2000 under a message called "fun with strange 
objects", unfortunately I neglected to post the source. Long story short, I 
lost that scene file along with everything else I made between 1995 and 
2000.

I have always hated losing that file, as that was one of my favorite 
controlled random scenes. While digging through my old source, I came upon 
the scene that initiated the thought process that lead to the creation of 
that image. I think I did pretty well, though the glow colors aren't quite 
the same..but I'm working on that.

The small image is the scene I lost, the larger image my recreation from 
last night.
And I'm going to post the source once I clean it up, so this doesn't happen 
again. ;-)

Have you tried backing up your files?  External hard drives are dirt cheap
nowadays, and you can save more than just your POV-Ray stuff.

Yeah, my computer is dual mirrored HD, then that is backed up on a 1tb WD 
mybook, which itself is backed up on another.
I've learned my lesson. ;-D
