Wish I could take credit for the model but it is something I found on the
'net. Converted from blender to povray using poseray.

Nice render!
Nonetheless: the car by VW has been called "Beetle" - not bug! So your
naming of this thread is, for want of better words, somewhat buggy ;-)

It may have bugs *in* it though; I know what I'm speaking of: Pieces of software
I wrote may end up in some of these ;)
(Well, it's not that bad - I was actually more involved in removing some bugs
before they could be built into beetles, than introducing new ones...)

With wavefront.obj, PoseRay didnt bother setting up the 2 missing maps, so it
rendered first try:

I edited the textures afterward so that wasn't a problem

Well yeah, but it is a popular nickname for the beetle. Ever play punch
buggy (or been victimized by said game)?

I think that calling the VW Beetle a bug is US centric.
Nice Render b.t.w. I like the texture of the ground/background.

I don't think so; the classic Volkswagen after which the "New Beetle" is shaped
(though currently nasty cold) country since no-one knows - which can be
translated as "bug" just about as well as "beetle".
totally mistaken.

There was a short discussion about "the punch buggy game" in OT early last year
(XKCD solves my life). That's what made me think that it's an American thing to
call the beetle a bug.
BTW when speaking English would a German speaker call a VW beetle a bug?
