If that's the one, it's in p.b.animations "Flying through Space" by
Rune. (22-09-2007)

You can find one way of doing this in the advanced scenes distributed
with povray (scene in the 'blocks' directory, in '/scenes/advanced' of
the povray directory).

Gentlemen!

You are all deeply thanked for your sharp memories (despite some deficient
neurons, but still in working order, it seems) :-)

I have here exactly what I need. Back to work now!!

This will be the final render, for the time being. The scene could still use
some improvements, but I am content for now. Hope you like it!

Sure do! :) The lights on the ship certainly work Thomas.

Thank you indeed, Steve. For the lights, I remembered I had a little macro
by Tim Attwood for random distribution on a surface. That worked very well
here.

I do! Especially the way the pod's umbilical stretches away to the far distance.
You should have posted a new thread though, I almost missed this final!

Is that a sky sphere I see between the viewer and the ship? ;-)

Thank you Bill! Yes, I should have posted a new thread indeed. Just being
lazy :-)
Yes, that umbilical came to my mind when Arthur C. Clarke died. A tiny,
extrapolated, reference to The Fountains of Paradise.

Yes, I used your excellent technique. The sphere contains also the media for
the atmosphere. In addition, I used a light_group containing the ship and a
white sun, the ship supposedly being located outside of the atmosphere,
while the rest of the scene is lighted by a reddish morning/evening sun at
the same location.
