Hi everyone,

Just a quick render here. It was inspired by an Apophysis fractal I was
messing around with.

I saved time by using emitting media based on the image of a man
(outline edited with a vector program, from a Red Bull ad). Focal blur
was rendered in two steps. I utilized Rune's illusion.inc (slightly
modified) for this purpose. Both steps used only 10 samples. It was
shrunk down from 800x800 to 600x600 and rendered with luminous color
bleeding (with interpolation). Can't tell you the render time, but it
was much lower than it could have been! :)

Questions and/or comments always welcome!

Sam

That's a great affect! Feels very film noir-ish, a bit like Sin City or
something. It really does look like a black and white photograph with a
long exposure in a dark cave.

Thank you Steven!

You probably mean the feel the image gives you.

The media itself it could use a change. I could have included the
outline of the cave entrance to the media's density to give it a little
extra realism. I thought I finished this scene a little too quickly! ;)

That sounds a good idea, I'd like to see the outcome.
