Oops, now I went ahead and posted something here without posting
the supposedly mandatory RSOCP image first. So here we go:

Ooh, fancy!
Is everyone who comes here supposed to post a RSOCP image?

Yes, it's mandatory. Now that you've posted a message without posting a RSOCP first,
the POVRay
police will be visiting you soon. :-p

Very funny :-)
Although I believe that you get a pardon if your first post was an
animation. (As mine was)

Hehe, thanks. I already had the model of the alien creature, even
though it's still under development (as you can see, the hands and
feet need a lot more work, and there is still much work to be done
to make the neck flexible, etc., etc.). So it's just copy-n-paste.
The UFO models had also been done previously, ready to be
#include'd, in fact, so it wasn't that much work putting them
into the scene.
So most of the real work was creating the claws of the RSOCP
cops and getting the UV-mapping of the RSOCP label positioned
properly (this is my first time using UV-mapping in POV). That
is to say, it wasn't *that* much work.
The alien creature, BTW, is a reference to my first post in
p.b.images --- the RSOCP cops are after him 'cos he dared to
land in POVland without first being heralded by an RSOCP
scene. ;-)

Had to try another RSOCP. Hope this is not addictive.

Nice, but don’t go using up all the good RSOCP, ideas :-)
The focal blur is a bit strong for my tastes.

My eyes are not at their best in the morning. And it looks like my work’s
monitor needs some time to warm up :-(
I can still see focal blur at the first two or three rows but it is subtle
and pleasing

Yes, the final moment before the scene collapses into chaos.
But as Stephen already noted, there is also a bit of focal blur.

And the focal blur / motion blur subtlety isn't the only fakeout in the
scene. Seems to me that the pile that is about to be knocked down
shouldn't be standing in the first place.

Or it needs a monkey, as in freeze the balls off a brass one.

Yes, those cops clearly are reflective spheres ;).

Hey, that's a good acronym. After all, the cops *are* RS's (reflective
spheres). :-) Maybe I should publish the model I used in the scene.
For, er, reference purposes. :-P

Yes, that is part of the joke, since the scene itself is actually an
RSOCP scene (well, with the definition stretched a little).

I've been busy with work and haven't been checking this as much as I would
like. I have one question: What is RSOCP?
As I don't know what it is, I'm pretty sure I've posted without submitting
one.
Thanks
