Same scene, but this time I moved the focal point to the surface of the 
sphere and changed some other focal blur settings.  Overall, I think 
this one looks far better than the other one.

Yes, this is really good. I would maybe decrease the amount of focal 
blur a little, and definitely add radiosity. The bottom part of the 
reflective sphere looks a bit flat without it.

There actually *IS* radiosity in the image.  The only light source is 
the sky_sphere.
