Neato.
I don't know if it looks better in a larger image, but the marble 
textures look a tad too "busy". Beyond that, it's quite a nice 
composition IMO.

texture for the solar-system-bounding-geometrics?

Ah! Good idea. I am still perfecting the image now, tweaking the finishes
and the light (array_light now). I still want to explore photons too. But
before, a copper texture would be nice.

Correct. A larger image is rendering, following more improvements on the
textures, the finishes, the lights, and the general ambient.
Take 3 will answer some of your comments; Take 4 will probably explore
photons too.
