no, not toooo rusty. but too sharp and perfect in shape. something this
rusty would be mishapen, missing chunks, be a little flattened out in places
and so on.

What he said.
Any nails that rusty are probably used (or at least abused), and almost
certainly pitted with corrosion.

They were a mistake. I was wondering if anyone knew why. ;)
