  It's supposed to be a small decorative pond, not a swimming pool.
Granted, the tiles hint at a swimming pool, but they look so cool I would
not want to change them to anything else... :P

i havn't seen many small decorative ponds or pools that are just square.

I mean, a more interesting form for the pool would liven up the image a lot.
I didn't intend to be harshly critical of it.

dredged the pool with a butterfly net trying to save them.

I agree with all the comments that say the waves should have a reason to 
exist...  this gives you a wide range of possibilities to choose from.

I think it is the stairs that lead most of us to believe this is a 
swimming pool and added confusion about the scale.

Awesome start!  Looking forward to future revisions.

A mirror that reflects the pool without ripples? Possibly including
the object that should have made the ripples?
