Beautiful. Any chance you rendered it big enough for my desktop

1400 hours of tracing?!?

I wasn't aware POVRay had been ported to the Sega Genesis.
Interesting result, regardless.

Well, radiosity, photons, blur, glass...
Bad combination even for a 2GHz cpu

If you're going to be performing 2 month renders, perhaps you should
consider upgrading your hardware. Then you could do 2 month renders and
at least get a reasonable wallpaper resolution out of it :-)

...but when he started the render, it was top of the line! ;-)

sphere on his abacus... he's aaaallllmost finished.

Actually, I use this machine because it's not (or
hardly) used for anything else. I actually work on
the p4s 3.-something GHz. All have 1G or more
ram.

And I don't think using a 3.6Ghz HT computer
would do much more than halving the time. What
I need is a cluster.

I actually thought of building such as cluster, and,
by the same occasion, cutting on my heating bill.
